Twelve people is the get-together format: two or three families, a group of long-standing friends, a milestone birthday. This is no longer a holiday let, it is a place you occupy entirely for a week.

At this capacity, our offer comes down to our three chalets. That is not an arbitrary limit: beyond ten people, only a whole chalet lets you live normally, with no neighbours to consider and shared spaces on the scale of the group.

Why a chalet is the answer at twelve

An apartment, however large, still sits inside a residence. With twelve people coming back from the slopes, eating late and putting the world to rights in the lounge, the neighbours become a permanent constraint and the atmosphere suffers for it.

A chalet removes the question. You have the whole building, you manage your own noise, your own timings, your own arrangements. That is precisely what a group this size is looking for, and it is what justifies the difference in budget.

Our three chalets

They are spread across three different areas of the valley: Chandon, La Renarde - Les Chalets and Mussillon. Each has its own character, its own access to the ski area and its own view, and the right choice depends a great deal on what you plan to do.

We know them individually, room by room. Call us before booking: with only three addresses, a ten-minute conversation is enough to identify the one that matches your group.

A stay for twelve is prepared differently

The difference from a smaller group is not just size: it is the number of decisions to take beforehand. Who sleeps where, how the budget is split, how meals are organised, ski abilities, staggered arrivals. None of that can be improvised on the first evening.

So we send you in advance everything the group needs in order to decide: a detailed bed plan, the number of bathrooms, the real capacity of the table, access and parking. The group settles things before setting off, not on arrival.

The bedroom question, settled before departure

At twelve, the bedrooms are never equivalent, and that is the first source of tension on a group stay. The only way to defuse it is to deal with it openly, with the exact information in front of you.

That is why we set out each sleeping arrangement rather than announcing a simple number. You know who sleeps where before you load the cars.

Eating as twelve

This is the subject that structures the week. Twelve place settings three times a day is not the same as four: you need a proper table, a kitchen sized for it, and the means to wash up afterwards.

Most groups organise themselves into rotating teams, a different pair each evening. It is by far the cheapest arrangement, and it is part of the pleasure of the stay. Our chalets are equipped for it, with worktop and table capacity that genuinely match.

Restaurants and evenings out

Twelve people do not sit down in a restaurant without booking, especially in February. If you are planning to eat out, tell us: we know the places in the valley and the constraints each of them has for a group this size.

Many groups alternate: a few dinners at the chalet, two or three nights out during the week. That is the best balance between budget and a change of scene.

Skiing as twelve without constraints

A group of twelve never skis as a pack, and there is no point trying. Abilities range from beginner to the skier who wants to do all three valleys in a day, and what matters is that everyone can leave and come back freely.

Lessons and equipment for the whole group

Kitting out twelve people on the first morning is an operation. We arrange lift passes, lessons and equipment hire in advance, for the whole group or for part of it.

Send us the list with ages, abilities and boot sizes. That is half a day saved once you are here, and it is the one that matters most.

Logistics: cars, arrivals, shopping

Twelve people means three to four vehicles and rarely a single arrival. We adapt the key handover to the group's actual timings, and we tell you exactly where to park depending on which chalet you take.

For supplies, one big supermarket stop on the way up remains the simplest solution. The shops in the resort then top things up day to day. We will advise you based on the area and your arrival time.

The budget for a chalet for twelve

Per person, a whole chalet filled with twelve compares well with several separate apartments — and it offers something no combination of apartments will give you: a shared place.

Bed linen is made up before arrival and the end-of-stay clean is included. There are no booking fees and no platform commission, since you book directly with us: for the same service, the gap can reach twenty per cent.

Splitting the costs cleanly

An all-inclusive price, known in advance and with no supplement added on arrival, makes splitting between twelve people considerably simpler. It is a point groups underestimate until it comes to settling up.

We give you a clear total from the outset, which you can divide however you like with no unpleasant surprises at the end of the stay.

Book a long way ahead

That is the absolute rule at this size. Three chalets, one season, and groups who sometimes plan a year ahead for the February holidays or New Year.

If your dates are fixed, get in touch as soon as the group has come together, even if you are not certain of the exact number. If they are flexible, January and March open up possibilities that no longer exist in high season.

Storage and drying, underestimated at this size

Twelve people skiing produce a considerable volume of wet kit every evening. Without a properly sized ski locker and somewhere to dry things, the chalet becomes uncomfortable by the third day, however good it is otherwise.

It is a point we check on site every season, as much as the bathrooms. It shows up in no photo and it weighs more heavily over a week than most of the features listings put forward.

A whole chalet outside the ski season

Summer changes things for a group this size. The chalet is the same, the rates are far gentler, and the programme opens up: walking, mountain biking, Lac de Tuéda, long evenings outdoors.

For a family get-together or a birthday that does not depend on snow, it is often the most sensible option. Availability bears no comparison with February.

Common questions about rentals for twelve

Can we be more than twelve? Some of our chalets go further. Give us the exact number, including small children, and we will tell you what is genuinely comfortable.

Can we hold an event? A birthday, a reunion, a corporate stay: tell us what you have in mind and we will work out together what the chalet allows. We prefer to frame it in advance rather than discover it on the day.

Are there enough bathrooms? That is the first criterion we check at this capacity. You are given the detail chalet by chalet before booking.

Is a deposit required? The conditions are set out when you book, clearly and in writing, before you commit to anything.

What we prepare with you beforehand

On a stay for twelve, half the work is done before arrival. Together we settle the bed plan, the number of vehicles, everyone's arrival times, the lift passes, the lessons and the equipment. The group arrives with the decisions already made.

That is also what sets a local management team based in the valley apart from a booking platform: a single point of contact, reachable on the spot, who knows the chalet and can sort out a problem within the hour rather than within the day.
